AbbVie identified an unmet need in atopic dermatitis because a majority of patients do not achieve simultaneous itch relief and skin improvement. In zumilokibart’s Phase 2 trial, approximately two-thirds of treated patients achieved significant skin clearance at 16 weeks, alongside notable improvements in itch reduction and overall disease control. Longer-term data supported maintenance dosing either quarterly or twice yearly. The molecule may also be evaluated in additional inflammatory indications, including asthma and other diseases.
