AbbVie sells products worldwide through AbbVie-owned distribution centers and public warehouses to wholesalers, distributors, government agencies, healthcare facilities, specialty pharmacies and independent retailers. Aesthetic products and devices are also sold directly to physicians and other licensed healthcare providers. In the United States, pharmaceutical distribution is principally through independent wholesale distributors, supplemented by direct sales to retailers, pharmacies, patients and other customers. Outside the United States, products are sold primarily through wholesalers or distributors, with reimbursement terms often negotiated through centralized national payer systems; some products are co-marketed or co-promoted.
