AES CORP · 2026-08-04 · Importance 51 · Surprise 64 · Matches filing data

AES recognized $52 million of net foreign-currency transaction losses in the second quarter of 2026, compared with $28 million in the prior-year quarter, an 86% increase. The losses were primarily driven by unrealized foreign-currency derivative losses and depreciation of the Argentine peso, together with Chilean- and Colombian-peso appreciation that negatively affected foreign-currency forwards. For the six months ended June 30, 2026, net foreign-currency transaction losses were $41 million, including $45 million of losses on foreign-currency derivative contracts.
