Second-quarter general and administrative expense increased $13 million, or 27%, to $62 million, primarily because of $11 million of Merger costs and $5 million of higher business-development costs. Six-month general and administrative expense decreased $9 million, or 7%, to $117 million, reflecting $14 million lower business-development costs, $9 million lower one-time restructuring costs, and $6 million lower professional fees. The six-month decline was partly offset by $22 million of Merger-related costs.
