Argentina enacted Law 27,742 in July 2024, granting the President emergency powers and initiating reforms affecting energy-sector regulation, privatization, and investment. Resolution 400/25, effective November 1, 2025, introduced more competitive price signals, decentralized fuel management, and reduced subsidies in the electricity market. Decree 450/25 established a 24-month transition beginning July 4, 2025, to deregulate Argentina’s electricity market and encourage private contracting and competition.
