International Commercial second-quarter underwriting income was $200 million, while its combined ratio increased 5.4 points to 91.3. The loss ratio increased 4.1 points to 59.2 because catastrophe losses rose 2.5 points, the adjusted accident-year loss ratio rose 1.0 point, and adverse prior-year development increased 0.6 point. Six-month underwriting income was $478 million, with the combined ratio worsening 2.1 points to 89.2. Six-month net premiums written increased 11% excluding a favorable $200 million foreign-exchange impact, led by Property, Casualty and Specialty.
