International Commercial Growth
AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL GROUP, INC. · 2026-08-07 · Importance 42 · Surprise 40 · From source text
International Commercial operates across EMEA, the United Kingdom, Japan, Asia Pacific, Latin America and Caribbean, and China, serving small and medium-sized businesses through multinational companies. Net premiums written increased 10% in the second quarter and 11% for the first six months excluding favorable foreign exchange, driven by strategic transactions and organic growth in Specialty and Property, and in Property, Casualty and Specialty, respectively. Growth included Global Specialty products such as aviation, political risk, trade credit and trade finance. Underwriting conditions weakened, with the six-month combined ratio rising 2.1 points to 89.2 because of higher catastrophe losses, a higher adjusted accident-year loss ratio and adverse prior-year development.
