Akamai completed its acquisition of LayerX on July 2, 2026, for approximately $205 million and rebranded the offering as Akamai Workforce Protector. The product provides visibility and controls over employee interactions with web content, SaaS applications, file uploads, and AI prompts, helping prevent sensitive-data leakage and govern unauthorized AI agents. Management said Workforce Protector complements Guardicore micro-segmentation, Zero Trust network access, and DNS security capabilities. LayerX is expected to have no material impact on full-year 2026 revenue and to reduce non-GAAP EPS by approximately $0.02, split evenly between Q3 and Q4.
