Applied Materials’ demand is driven by semiconductor customers’ capital-equipment and service spending in response to worldwide semiconductor demand, technology transitions and production-volume changes. Foundry and logic spending increased during the first nine months of fiscal 2026 because of stronger demand for leading-edge manufacturing technologies, although trailing-edge logic systems experienced lower demand. Memory spending also increased, primarily because customers invested more in DRAM technology transitions, while AI, data centers, robotics, smart vehicles and connected devices are identified as major industry growth drivers.
