The Semiconductor Systems portfolio addresses patterning, transistor, interconnect, process-control and packaging challenges for smaller dimensions, more complex chip architectures and new materials. Applied Materials invests in RD&E and works with global customers during early technology selection so new products can be incorporated into manufacturing plans before strong demand emerges. Product development and manufacturing are conducted primarily in the United States, Europe, Israel and Asia, with products sold mainly through a direct sales force.
