AMD announced a strategic partnership with Anthropic under which Anthropic will deploy up to 2 gigawatts of MI450 Series GPUs in Helios. The first 1-gigawatt deployment is scheduled to begin in the first half of 2027, supported by a multiyear joint engineering collaboration using Claude to optimize Instinct workloads and accelerate ROCm development. Microsoft will deploy Helios at scale on Azure for frontier-model inference across Microsoft, its AI customers and Azure AI services. AMD also partnered with Cerebras to combine its wafer-scale engine with Helios Plus, with availability beginning in the Cerebras cloud in the fourth quarter and extending into 2027.
