R&D expense increased 33% year over year to $2.5 billion in the second quarter and 36% to $4.9 billion for the first six months. R&D growth was primarily caused by higher employee-related costs from increased headcount supporting AMD’s AI strategy and long-term growth opportunities. Marketing, general and administrative expense increased 41% to $1.4 billion in the quarter and 41% to $2.7 billion for six months. MG&A growth was primarily attributable to increased go-to-market activities supporting revenue growth.
