AMD recorded inventory and related charges in the prior-year period because of U.S. government export controls on AMD Instinct MI308 Data Center GPU products. Those charges were absent in the second quarter and first six months of fiscal 2026. The absence of the charges contributed to the 14-percentage-point quarterly gross-margin increase to 54% and the eight-percentage-point six-month increase to 53%. Data Center operating income benefited materially, rising from a $155 million loss to $2.1 billion in the quarter.
