Amazon Web Services entered a multi-year agreement with Synopsys valued at more than $1 billion to license chip-design intellectual property. Amazon will be the lead customer for Synopsys’s application-optimized silicon IP, supporting custom processors including Graviton and Trainium. The collaboration also covers electronic-design automation, simulation, and AI-powered engineering, while Synopsys will expand its use of AWS services such as EC2 and Bedrock.
