Trade Policy and Tariffs

BALL Corp · 2026-08-04 · Importance 25 · Surprise 42

Management said it does not expect significant near- or medium-term effects from the July 2026 changes to U.S. Section 232 aluminum policy. Ball stated that the incentives for domestic aluminum production were not material enough to move the needle and that the company cannot forecast future U.S. or global tariff and trade-policy changes. Although aluminum costs are passed through to customers, management warned that elevated aluminum prices can ultimately affect customer and end-consumer demand and said it would welcome additional U.S. or international smelting and rolling capacity.
