Warren Buffett announced a donation of approximately $6 billion worth of Berkshire Hathaway shares to four family charitable foundations on July 14. He intends to donate the remaining approximately $140 billion of his Berkshire stake to charity by December 31, 2034. The planned transfers will materially reduce Buffett’s personal ownership of Berkshire shares over time.
