As of September 2026, more than $42 billion of Berkshire Hathaway’s $358 billion investment portfolio was invested in three companies described as virtual monopolies. The concentration represents more than approximately 11.7% of the portfolio based on the reported figures. Greg Abel assumed responsibility for the investment portfolio after Warren Buffett retired as CEO on December 31.
