Constellation’s restart of Three Mile Island Unit 1, renamed the Crane Clean Energy Center, is supported by a 20-year power purchase agreement with Microsoft. Restart and electricity delivery remain subject to the NRC’s comprehensive safety and environmental review and permits from relevant state and local agencies. PJM identified contingent transmission upgrades that could extend the project’s full grid deliverability to dates as late as December 2030. In March 2026, Constellation requested that FERC permit transfer of capacity interconnection rights from Eddystone to Crane, and FERC granted the waiver in June 2026.
