Export Controls / Regulatory Risk

Constellation Energy Corp · 2026-08-06 · Importance 40 · Surprise 42

The U.S. Prohibiting Russian Uranium Imports Act became effective in August 2024 and bans U.S. imports of Russian-produced or Russian-entity-produced low-enriched uranium absent a Department of Energy waiver. Russia separately imposed temporary restrictions on enriched-uranium exports to the United States in November 2024, while permitting special licenses for individual shipments. Constellation predominantly uses long-term contracts and diverse domestic and international suppliers, has increased nuclear-fuel inventories, and is working with the U.S. government to mitigate supply and cost risks.
