Yazoo City Incident and Rebuild

CF Industries Holdings, Inc. · 2026-08-06 · Importance 53 · Surprise 60 · In source text

The November 2025 incident in the AN upgrade area temporarily idled all production at the Yazoo City complex, while the ammonia plant and other upgrade units were not damaged. Management approved a rebuild plan in the second quarter of 2026 and expects production to resume in the first half of 2027 after fabrication and delivery of required equipment. The incident reduced second-quarter AN sales volume 66% and six-month AN volume 63%, driving AN sales declines of 39% and 41%, respectively. CF recognized a $23 million asset impairment, $50 million of second-quarter business-interruption insurance income, and $75 million of total insurance proceeds for the six months, including $25 million for property damage.
