Cummins is adapting its engine portfolio to changes in U.S. Environmental Protection Agency emissions requirements. The company is launching new engine platforms for 2027 following EPA emissions-regulation changes, with the transition described as phased. An EPA clarification on emissions-warranty requirements is expected to ease manufacturers’ transition costs and execution risk. Cummins plans limited production of the new X15 engine in January 2027 and full production in the fourth quarter of 2027.
