Portfolio Refinement and M&A
CHARLES RIVER LABORATORIES INTERNATIONAL, INC. · 2026-08-05 · Importance 53 · Surprise 60 · No source text
Charles River completed divestitures of certain European discovery-services sites and the CDMO and Cell Solutions businesses in May 2026. The divestitures produced a partial-quarter benefit in the second-quarter operating margin and are expected to provide a full-quarter benefit in the third quarter and a larger Manufacturing-margin contribution thereafter. Management said the portfolio actions improve focus on regulated testing solutions and core competencies. The company continues to evaluate acquisitions, has identified target areas, and stated that no additional divestiture is imminent, while the PathoQuest acquisition enabled an NGS collaboration with Arovella Therapeutics.
