Litigation and Legal Risk

Corteva, Inc. · 2026-08-06 · Importance 46 · Surprise 42

A federal judge approved more than $2.5 billion of settlements involving New Jersey, DuPont, Chemours, Corteva, and 3M over PFAS pollution. The settlements address natural-resource damages, site cleanup, and drinking-water contamination. Separately, California Attorney General Rob Bonta amended a lawsuit alleging that DuPont, Corteva, Chemours, and Qnity Electronics used fraudulent transfers to shift PFAS liabilities to Chemours. California is seeking injunctive relief, damages, penalties, restitution, and pollution abatement, creating additional potential exposure beyond the New Jersey settlements.
