Citigroup’s provision for credit losses increased 6% year over year to $2.6 billion, comprising $2.2 billion of net credit losses and a $369 million net reserve build. The reserve build was driven by changes in the macroeconomic outlook and portfolio growth, while net credit losses were unchanged from the prior-year period. The total allowance for credit losses was $22.4 billion at quarter end, including $20.1 billion on loans, and the reserve-to-funded-loan ratio declined to 2.5% from 2.7%. USCC provision increased 4% to $1.9 billion, while All Other provision increased 61% to $532 million because of higher Mexico Consumer credit losses.
