Capital Expenditure Program
DELTA AIR LINES, INC. · 2026-07-10 · Importance 64 · Surprise 42 · From source text
Delta expects 2026 capital expenditures to be over $5 billion, primarily for aircraft deliveries and advance deposit payments, fleet modifications and technology enhancements. For fleet planning, in March 2026 Delta entered definitive agreements to acquire 30 Boeing 787-10s (option for 30 more) with deliveries beginning in 2031, purchased 16 A330-900s and 15 A350-900s (deliveries beginning in 2029) and exercised options for 34 A321neo aircraft (deliveries beginning in 2029) while maintaining options for additional A321neos. Delta states it has committed aircraft purchase obligations and obtained long‑term financing commitments for substantial portions of purchase prices, but in some cases is not obligated to use the financing. These planned aircraft commitments and >$5 billion 2026 capex program will drive multi‑year fleet and cash‑flow implications.
