Second-quarter 2026 sales in developed markets increased 2% year over year, although core sales declined slightly because of lower sales in Western Europe and North America. High-growth-market sales increased 15% year over year, with core sales up more than 10%, and these markets represented approximately 31% of total second-quarter sales. Biotechnology core-sales growth was led by China in the second quarter and by China and Western Europe for the six-month period, while North America partially offset growth. Diagnostics core sales increased in North America, the Middle East and Western Europe during the second quarter but declined in China; six-month Diagnostics core sales declined in China, North America and Western Europe, partly because of China’s volume-based procurement pricing and healthcare reimbursement changes.
