Electric Utilities and Infrastructure total generation increased 1.0% year over year to 51,559 GWh in the second quarter and increased 0.7% to 104,886 GWh for six months. Coal generation increased 17.8% to 9,169 GWh in the second quarter, while nuclear generation declined 6.7% to 17,959 GWh and hydro generation declined 81.4% to 84 GWh. Renewable generation increased 11.9% to 1,310 GWh in the second quarter and 14.1% to 2,295 GWh for six months. Duke Energy Florida’s six-month renewable generation increased 13.8% to 1,976 GWh, while Duke Energy Progress’s renewable generation increased 37.3% to 162 GWh.
