The North Carolina multi-year rate plan includes approximately $3.4 billion of capital projects allocated to North Carolina that are projected to enter service over the two-year plan period. This investment level is $500 million below the approximately $3.9 billion included in the initial filing. The settlement establishes an annual refund mechanism based on the number and amount of capital projects placed in service compared with the approved amounts for each rate year. The historic North Carolina retail rate base used in the settlement is approximately $17.8 billion.
