DAVITA INC. · 2026-08-04 · Importance 20 · Surprise 40 · From source text
The consolidated effective income tax rate declined to 20.4% for the first six months of 2026 from 22.6% in the prior-year period. The effective tax rate attributable to DaVita Inc. declined to 25.4% from 28.9%, a 3.5 percentage-point reduction. The year-over-year decrease primarily reflected the write-down of a 2014 tax refund claim recognized in the second quarter of 2025. Sequentially, the Q2 2026 consolidated effective tax rate increased to 21.1% from 19.4% because first-quarter stock-compensation benefits were partly offset by renewable-energy-credit benefits in the second quarter.
