Los Angeles County Fire Department investigators concluded that arcing from Southern California Edison equipment on an out-of-service transmission tower caused the January 2025 Eaton Fire. The fire killed 19 people and destroyed more than 9,000 homes and businesses in Altadena and surrounding areas.
