Software & Systems was Emerson’s fastest-growing major business in the quarter, with reported and underlying sales up 11% to $1,644 million. Within that business, Test & Measurement sales increased 23% to $445 million, compared with 7% growth in Control Systems & Software sales to $1,199 million. Intelligent Devices sales rose 6% reported and 5% underlying to $2,677 million, with Sensors up 8% reported and 7% underlying and Final Control up 4% reported and 3% underlying. The results show stronger market traction for Emerson’s software, systems and test-and-measurement offerings than for its process-device businesses.
