Second-quarter 2026 income tax provision increased to $775 million from $406 million in the second quarter of 2025. The effective income tax rate was approximately 22.2% in the second quarter of 2026, compared with approximately 23.2% in the prior-year quarter. First-half 2026 income tax provision totaled $1.350 billion on income before taxes of $6.054 billion. The quarter’s tax provision reduced second-quarter net income from $3.499 billion before tax to reported net income of $2.724 billion.
