In 2026, the Evergy Companies signed electric service agreements with multiple large load customers to serve data centers with projected peak steady-state load of approximately 2,600 MW. The agreements cover three new projects and expansions of two previously announced projects, with service commencing or expected to commence from 2026 through 2028. In the second quarter, a data center customer that began taking service in 2026 and a large load industrial customer contributed to higher weather-normalized demand; cooling degree days also increased 25%. Year to date, higher weather-normalized demand from commercial and industrial customers, including a new data center customer, increased utility gross margin by $31.1 million.
