F5 offers application delivery and security solutions through F5 BIG-IP software and systems, F5 NGINX software, and F5 Distributed Cloud Services. BIG-IP is sold through subscription and perpetual licenses, NGINX through subscriptions as deployable software or SaaS, and Distributed Cloud Services through a unified SaaS and managed-service platform. Product mix shifted toward systems, which represented 53.3% of nine-month product revenue versus 47.5% in the prior-year period, while software represented 46.7% versus 52.5%. Software revenue still increased 4.3% year over year for the nine months, primarily due to increased sales of subscription offerings.
