FIS is expanding its banking technology strategy beyond traditional core systems through an acq-hire focused on orchestration and core-light capabilities. The acquired team is expected to help place ledger, orchestration-layer and customer-master capabilities around FIS’s existing cores, allowing banks to modernize incrementally or pursue a full core-hollowing strategy. Management said FIS can support the largest financial institutions with existing cores, a modern banking platform, Payments and other value-added services. The company expects to discuss the strategy further by the end of 2026 and is targeting significant wins.
