Consolidated operating expenses increased to $2.38 billion from $1.76 billion in the fourth quarter and to $10.85 billion from $10.52 billion for the full year. Fourth-quarter expense growth was primarily driven by higher sports programming rights amortization and production costs for the World Cup.
