Ford is partnering with Apple to make Apple Maps the primary navigation system in some upcoming electric vehicles. The integration will use Apple’s MapKit for Automotive SDK and is expected to debut in Ford’s Universal Electric Vehicle models beginning in 2027. The Fathom is also reported to include BlueCruise, bidirectional charging and a large touchscreen, extending software and connected-vehicle functionality in Ford’s affordable EV lineup. Separately, Autio launched an embedded location-based audio app in select Ford and Lincoln vehicles in the U.S., offering more than 12,000 narrated stories.
