Product Safety Recall
FORD MOTOR CO · 2026-08-05 · Importance 47 · Surprise 60 · In source text
NHTSA escalated a defect investigation covering 135,551 Ford Fiesta, Focus and EcoSport vehicles, calling the timing-belt issue an “unreasonable risk” because it can cause oil starvation and power loss. Ford also recalled approximately 47,587 F-150 and F-250 trucks in the United States for an obstructed rearview-camera image, with software remedies delivered over the air or through dealers beginning in August 2026. Separate recalls cover more than 676,000 Explorer and Lincoln Aviator vehicles for roof-rail and second-row-seat defects, adding to 36 open recalls involving 9.8 million vehicles and increasing potential warranty and regulatory costs.
