The Tennessee Valley Authority is in fast-paced negotiations with GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy to potentially build small modular reactors at the dormant Bellefonte site in Alabama. TVA is also considering SMRs at its Clinch River Nuclear Site in Tennessee and discussing another Tennessee site with Entra1 Energy.
