Operating Expense Trends (Corporate & Other)

GENERAL ELECTRIC CO · 2026-07-16 · Importance 25 · Surprise 32

Adjusted Corporate & Other operating costs (Non-GAAP) increased by $0.1 billion in Q2 2026 versus Q2 2025, and by $0.2 billion for the six months ended June 30, 2026 versus prior year. Management cites higher environmental, health and safety (EHS) costs, lower bank interest and higher intercompany profit eliminations as the primary drivers of the increase in adjusted corporate costs. Corporate & Other operating profit (cost) on a GAAP basis was $(280) million in Q2 2026, relatively flat year-over-year after offsetting gains on equity securities. The six-month Corporate & Other operating cost increased to $(780) million, reflecting higher losses on retained and sold ownership interests and lower run-off insurance operations profit.
