Bristol Myers Squibb reported positive mid-stage results for its investigational multiple myeloma CAR T therapy, arlocabtagene autoleucel, in relapsed and refractory disease. The results showed significant improvements in response rates and were viewed as a key derisking event for BMS. The therapy is expected to target patients exposed to four prior lines of treatment, potentially reducing direct competition with Gilead’s upcoming CAR T therapy, anito-cel, while still affecting the competitive outlook for Gilead’s oncology pipeline.
