Gilead and the Pan American Health Organization agreed to expand access to twice-yearly lenacapavir, marketed as Yeztugo, for HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis across Latin America and the Caribbean. The arrangement uses PAHO’s Regional Revolving Funds and covers 14 countries not included in existing voluntary licensing agreements. The initiative targets regions where new HIV infections rose 13% from 2010 to 2024. Gilead is also exploring local production in Brazil, potentially supporting broader regional supply and adoption of long-acting HIV prevention.
