Google is pursuing additional nuclear capacity to support electricity demand from its data centers and other large users. Kairos Power selected Samsung C&T to help build a 50-megawatt demonstration reactor intended for completion by 2030. Separately, Georgia Power agreed to upgrade the Vogtle and Hatch nuclear plants, potentially adding 96 megawatts of capacity for Google under a new tariff with Zero-Emission Credits.
