Alphabet signed an agreement with Georgia Power to support equipment upgrades at the Plant Vogtle and Plant Hatch nuclear facilities in Georgia. The uprates are expected to add 96 MW of generation capacity to the state grid, supporting electricity demand associated partly with Alphabet’s expanding AI infrastructure. Alphabet will subscribe to a new Nuclear Uprate tariff and associated zero-emission credits, with the projects subject to approval by the Georgia Public Service Commission. The arrangement is projected to provide approximately $900 million in benefits to Georgia Power customers over the plants’ operating lives.
