Google and Terradot announced a megaton-scale enhanced rock weathering project in Southern Brazil combining methane avoidance in rice farming with permanent carbon dioxide removal. Google will purchase 1 million tonnes of near-term methane impact by 2030 and 1 million tonnes of carbon-removal impact by 2040. The transaction is Google's largest carbon-removal purchase to date and creates a long-term ESG and execution commitment in Brazil.
