Quantum Computing Partnership

Hewlett Packard Enterprise Co · 2026-08-04 · Importance 34 · Surprise 42

HPE is partnering with Rigetti Computing and the Pittsburgh Supercomputing Center on a hybrid quantum-classical supercomputing deployment. The initiative is intended to integrate quantum processors with HPE high-performance computing and AI infrastructure rather than replace conventional systems. Rigetti separately reported a letter of intent for up to $100 million in U.S. CHIPS Act funding to accelerate superconducting quantum-computing research, potentially supporting the broader ecosystem around the HPE collaboration. HPE’s strategy positions quantum integration, middleware, and orchestration as longer-term infrastructure opportunities for scientific and industrial workloads.
