Trade Policy and Tariffs
HENRY SCHEIN INC · 2026-08-04 · Importance 37 · Surprise 42 · In source text
The U.S. has adopted new and increased tariffs on imports from multiple countries, while the scope, applicability and legal basis continue to evolve through legislative and executive actions, exemptions and judicial challenges. The U.S. Supreme Court invalidated certain tariffs imposed under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act, but the government subsequently implemented additional measures under other statutory authorities. Tariffs did not materially affect Henry Schein’s results during fiscal 2025 or the six months ended June 27, 2026, although U.S. dental equipment sales were temporarily affected by tariff-related uncertainty in the second half of the quarter ended June 28, 2025. The company received immaterial tariff refunds during the three and six months ended June 27, 2026, received additional refunds afterward, and expects to recognize their net impact in the quarter ending September 26, 2026.
