Comparable hotel occupancy increased to 74.9% in the second quarter from 74.1% in the prior-year quarter, while average room rate increased 5.8% and RevPAR increased 7.0%. Year-to-date occupancy was 72.6%, up from 72.0%, with average room rate up 4.9% and RevPAR up 5.7%. Domestic occupancy increased to 72.9% year-to-date from 72.2%, while international occupancy declined to 64.3% from 65.7%, although international RevPAR increased 9.8%. Strongest year-to-date comparable RevPAR increases included San Francisco/San Jose at 18.0%, Austin at 22.1%, Miami at 14.1% and Florida Gulf Coast at 6.8%, while New Orleans declined 19.3%.
