Quantum Computing Funding Policy

IBM’s Anderon subsidiary finalized a $1 billion award from the U.S. Department of Commerce under the CHIPS and Science Act. The funding will support research and development for a 300-millimeter pure-play quantum wafer foundry in Albany, New York. The program is intended to scale quantum-wafer manufacturing, transition research into commercial applications, and strengthen the U.S. domestic supply chain for quantum computing. Third-party reporting also said IBM has made a separate $1 billion commitment to the initiative.
