A meta-analysis led by Intuitive Surgical evaluated da Vinci robotic-assisted surgery against laparoscopic and open procedures for 13 common benign conditions. The study covered more than 14 million procedures across 32 countries and found shorter hospital stays, quicker return to work, lower conversion-to-open rates and fewer blood transfusions associated with da Vinci surgery. Operative times were slightly longer, while reported complications, infections, readmissions and 30-day mortality showed no significant differences.
